United in Nima



In early 2009, 5 Bay Area teenagers from low-income neighborhoods took a transformative trip. They flew to Accra, Ghana – to a slum called Nima - as part of SF Cameraworks’ photography mentoring program. While they were there, they met a group of Ghanaian kids as young as 8 years old who shared their love of taking pictures, and together, they produced an exhibit called “United in Nima”.
