Toyota plant NUMMI closes, former workers look forward




Since news struck of the possible closure of NUMMI, the plant's workers have been protesting, picketing, and organizing to resist closure. Now that it's become a reality, they are turning their efforts to figuring out what they will do next.
I dropped by NUMMI’s Re-employment Center, housed inside the Local United Auto Workers headquarters set up right across the street from the auto factory in Fremont. More than 1,700 workers have sought help there so far, and the center was buzzing with their activity.
